And the Dunkirk goes to.......

Dunkirk
Director - Christopher Nolan
Cast - Tom Hardy, Fionn Whitehead, Mark Rylance, Harry Styles, Cillian Murphy, Kenneth Branagh
Rating - 4.5/5

All those guying to watch Dunkirk must not assume it to be a history class or documentary.   Christopher Nolan’s monumental new film never try to fake any emotion related to World War or the Evacuation operation which is shown on screen. Surprisingly this War drama doesn't have much of dialogues, especially in a time where were nationalism and patriotism is worn on sleeves.

Dunkirk is just a perfect teleportation making you feel being one of those soldiers who want to save their life. This movie doesn't make you uncomfortable with unnecessary bloodshed or violence. “Dunkirk” naturally consists of three parts, each of which belongs to its own timeline and terrain. The film is evenly split across land, sea, and air.Viewers are left with no choice but to be hooked to the screen till the end credits roll down.

We don't see any character taking over the movie whether it's Harry Styles or Tom Hardy. The best part about Nolan is he doesn't take a shortcut in his storytelling despite his movies being pleasing to our eyes. He works as hard on his every movie as he did in his earlier days. Bigger studio and a huge budget have just helped his cinema just get better.

The 75% of the film is being shot on IMAX 65mm stock. Editing is done so well and crisp one never feels it too stretched or incomplete. Critics and viewers all over the world are already expecting 'Dunkirk' to be the lead contender for Oscars.  Comparing art is disrespectful and this shouldn't be compared to Nolan's early day cinema. For best experience watch it on an IMAX screen. Releasing 21st July 2017.
