'MUBI' for those who prefer quality cinema over 'Binge' watching mediocrity
In the times when we are flooded with number of OTT streaming platforms, what if I tell you there's another you must subscribe too. I am talking about 'MUBI' a U.K based streaming platform which curates some of the best cinema from around the world without restriction of languages. MUBI launched in India in December 2019 with a separate India section which has best of Indian cinema, this section is being curated by film producer Guneet Monga , film critic Sucharita Tyagi and few others. Every day a new movie is added to the platform for 30 days for viewers to see. At any given period of time the subscriber has 30 films to choose from, Indians viewers has a bonus content of 30 Indian films.
What makes MUBI different from other OTTs like Netflix, Amazon Prime video, Hotstar, etc is that it doesn't bombard you with the quantity of content to keep browsing through. MUBI doesn't work on algorithm which keep recommending content similar to your taste, instead its curated content is being served to you.
Some people I met very genuinely keen on discovering regional as well as foreign language films but where clueless from where to get them, not everyone is able to attend films festivals. Even if you attend a festivals you can't watch every single films in the short period of time.
Good cinema is always being made in every period, it's just that these films never make it too main stream media.
Currently MUBI is offering introductory pricing of Rs. 199 for 3 months.
